IDEA
Matchai is a social scheduling app built as part of BigBerlinHack. It helps friend groups find a shared time and place to meet by combining personal preferences, Google Calendar availability, venue data, and a short AI-generated recommendation.
USER EXPERIENCE
The app guides users from group setup to a clear meetup proposal with minimal friction. Friends can connect calendars, review suggested venues, RSVP to a proposal, and add the final plan back to their calendar.
TECHNOLOGY
Built with a React and Vite frontend, a FastAPI backend, Firebase Authentication, and Firestore. The app integrates Google Calendar FreeBusy checks, Google Places venue search, Gemini summaries, and Gradium text-to-speech for accessibility.
